If you are moving into a new house and need a handyman in Pacific Palisades, the first question is what is behind the wall you have picked. A new house, an older home and a townhome can each be built differently, and that changes both the anchor and the price.
The town has older homes with new houses going up beside them, so the walls can change from one lot to the next. Each install has its price on the install board, with a column for each kind of wall.
What comes with every install
- One flat price each. The board price is the price for that install.
- Free to quote. Install days are same-week, Monday to Saturday, 7am to 7pm.
- A text within two hours. We confirm your price and your day by text, between 7am and 7pm.
- Level before we pack up. You see the bubble centered before we leave.
- A one-year workmanship warranty. If it comes loose, we come back at no charge.

What is behind the wall in a new house and an older one
- Drywall. A newly built house will almost always have drywall, and so will an older room that has been remodeled.
- Plaster. Older homes around town can have plaster in their original rooms.
- Brick or concrete. You find this at a fireplace, and on a hillside lot a lower room can have a concrete wall on the side that faces the slope.
- Metal studs. Some new construction, especially a large custom house, is framed in steel.
Each wall has its own price on the install board. If your builder gave you photos of the framing, those tell us a lot, so please send them along. If not, we check the wall at the door before anything is drilled.
TVs, mirrors and shelves for a Pacific Palisades home
- TV installation. A large screen needs the right bracket for the wall behind it, and our TV mounting page goes through the brackets.
- Mirrors and art. A tall mirror in an entry or a row of frames up the stairs comes under picture and mirror hanging.
- Shelves and curtain rods. We level a floating shelf bracket on the studs, and a long run of glass gets a middle bracket so the rod stays straight.
- Anchored furniture. A tall bookcase or wardrobe is strapped to the wall, and our furniture assembly price covers building it first.
A newly finished house off Sunset Boulevard
- One install day, room by room. We go in whatever order you like, and we confirm the board price for each piece by text.
- Steep driveways and stairs. If you are up a canyon road or on a steep lot, tell us about the driveway and any long stairs, so we can plan how a big screen gets carried in.
- Condos and townhomes. If your complex has a gate code or visitor parking, send it with your booking so we come prepared.
- Small repairs. Patching holes in drywall, a loose door knob or a tub faucet replacement can be added, each quoted in writing first. Our drywall repair and door repair pages show what we take on.
Call (310) 857-2520 and tell us what is going up and in which room, and we will confirm your flat price and your install day by text.
