- Plaster. Many of the large older homes still have plaster in their original rooms.

- Brick or concrete. You will find this on fireplace walls, and a custom home on the hillside north of Sunset may have concrete walls as well.
- Metal studs. A newer condo building near the Golden Triangle could be framed in steel.
A custom home can change from room to room, so please tell us the room when you call. The install board shows how each wall is priced, and if we find something it does not cover, you hear it before the first hole and you can say no.
Questions about large pieces and larger homes
Does a bigger house cost more?
No. The size of the house is not on the board. A TV on drywall costs the same in Trousdale Estates as it does in an apartment off Santa Monica Boulevard.
Can you hang a very heavy mirror?
Yes, as long as the studs or the masonry can carry it. Tell us the size and the weight when you call, so we can plan how it gets up and bring the right anchors.
What if the TV is going on stone or marble?
Tell us first, because a stone face is not on the board. We would want to see it, and any price for that wall would come to you separately in writing.

- Large TVs. A big screen on a tall wall takes some planning, so let us know the ceiling height and the TV model. Our TV mounting page shows the brackets we work with.

- The order of the rooms. You decide where we start, and we plan the day around the big pieces.
- A long driveway or a rear alley. Tell us which way in is easiest, especially for a big TV.
- Renters and landlords. If you rent south of Wilshire Boulevard, ask your landlord first, because we will be drilling. If you own the building, we can get a unit ready for your next tenant.
