Many of the postwar ranch homes on Arcadia's big lots have been replaced by large new houses, so a handyman in Arcadia cannot go by the street alone. An original ranch room and a new build usually have different walls, and the install board gives each wall its own column.

- Level before we pack up. You see the bubble centered before we leave.

Original ranch, new build or south Arcadia condo
- An original ranch home. The rooms nobody has redone, in Santa Anita Village or elsewhere in town, may have a thin coat of plaster.
- A new house or a remodel. You can expect drywall throughout.
- A fireplace wall. This is where you are most likely to find brick or concrete.
- A hillside home in the Highlands. These can be any of the above, depending on the age of the house, so tell us roughly when it was built.
- A condo or apartment off Duarte Road. Most are drywall, but a newer building may be framed in metal studs.
Each wall is priced in its own column on the install board. If you are not sure which you have, mention it when you call, and we will take a quick look at the door before any drilling starts.
Your first install day off Santa Anita Avenue
A new home tends to have a stack of things waiting for the walls, and they can all go on one install day.
- One total. Each install keeps its board price, and we add them up and text you the sum.
- The first room. You choose which room we start in, and we work through the house from there.
- Your hardware. Our price covers the labor and the anchors, so please have the bracket, shelf or rod on hand before we come.
- A rental in south Arcadia. Get your landlord's okay first. If you are leaving an old apartment at the same time, we can take the mounts down there and patch the holes, quoted in writing.
What we put up in Arcadia living rooms and bedrooms
- The TV. A long ranch home living room can have more than one good wall for it, and the wall you pick can change the column. Ask us about brackets when you call, and you can read more about TV mounting before then.
- Mirrors and pictures. A large mirror in a new house or a row of frames in a ranch home hallway goes on our picture and mirror hanging price.
- Curtain rods. A long ranch home window gets a rod that stays straight from end to end.
- Furniture. Flat-pack goes together on our furniture assembly price, and a tall bookcase can be strapped to the wall.
