- Mirrors and pictures. A mirror in a small bungalow bedroom or a set of frames up the stairs of a hillside home goes on our picture and mirror hanging price.
- Floating shelves. A hidden bracket goes on first, through to the studs if the wall is plaster, so the shelf looks clean.
- Curtain rods. We hang a long rod across the wide window of a hillside home, and it stays straight.
- Tall furniture. We tie a tall bookcase or dresser back to the studs so it cannot come forward.
- Flat-pack pieces. If it is still in the box, our furniture assembly price covers building it.
Moving in off Pacific Avenue
One install day can take care of the whole place, whether that is an older bungalow off Pacific Avenue or a condo near Western Avenue.
- One number. We add up the board price of each piece and text you the total before we hold the day.
- The morning. You tell us which room to begin with, and we go on from there in the order you like.
- Stairs. If your home in Vista del Oro or South Shores has a long flight of steps, let us know, so we can plan how a big TV gets inside.
- The alley. If the easiest way into your house is the alley behind it, tell us and we will use that.
- The old place. If you are leaving a rental at the same time, we can take the mounts off the walls there and patch the holes, quoted in writing.
The wall on the grid and the wall in South Shores
These are the walls you are most likely to have in San Pedro, from the grid to the hillside streets of South Shores.
- Plaster. The older bungalows and Craftsman homes on the grid usually have plaster over lath.
- Drywall. Apartments and condos are usually drywall, and so is any room that has been redone in a postwar home.
- Brick or concrete. This turns up on a fireplace wall anywhere in town, and some condo buildings are poured concrete.
- Metal studs. A newer condo building near Western Avenue could have steel framing.
Look up your wall on the install board for its price. A postwar home in Vista del Oro or South Shores can go either way, because some have a thin plaster coat and some have drywall. We can check that at the door in a minute or two, before the first hole.
San Pedro repairs we can add to your install day
Every repair is quoted in writing before we hold the day, and you can also book one on its own.
- Weather stripping and window caulking. If the ocean wind is coming in around an outside door or a window, we can put on new weather stripping or run fresh caulk.
- Wall patches. We do drywall repair, filling old anchor holes and matching the texture, and we patch plaster too.
- Doors. If a door drags or will not close, our door repair puts it back square.

Does a hillside street in South Shores change the price?
No. The hill does not appear on the board, only the install and the wall. A steep street is good for us to know about, and it does not add to what you pay.
Can you give me a price before you see the wall?
Yes. Tell us what you think the wall is, and we will give you the price for that column. If it could be one of two, we quote both and settle it at the door before we drill.
