A handyman in Downtown Los Angeles hardly ever gets a wood stud to work with, because this part of town is towers and lofts with very few houses. The walls here tend to be concrete, brick or steel studs, and each of those has a column on the install board.
The lag screws that hold a TV in a tract house will not do the job here, so we ask about your building first.
What comes with every install
- One flat price each. The board price is the price for that install.
- Free to quote. Install days are same-week, Monday to Saturday, 7am to 7pm.
- A text within two hours. We confirm your price and your day by text, between 7am and 7pm.
- Level before we pack up. You see the bubble centered before we leave.
- A one-year workmanship warranty. If it comes loose, we come back at no charge.

A new apartment or loft off Spring Street, set up in a morning
- Everything on one install day. Five or six installs fit in one morning, and each one keeps its board price in the total we text you.
- Your floor and the elevator. Tell us what floor you are on and whether the elevator has to be booked for a big screen.
- The TV. Send us the model and we can say whether your bracket will work. Our TV mounting page goes through the options for each wall.
- Mirrors and furniture. A big mirror goes on our picture and mirror hanging price, and flat-pack goes on our furniture assembly price.
- Renting. Please get your landlord's okay before we drill into concrete or brick, since those holes are harder to hide when you leave.
Small repairs for a Downtown condo or loft
Each repair is put in writing with its own quote before we hold the day.
- Holes from an old mount. We do drywall repair for the holes an old mount leaves, and we match the texture.
- Doors. A door that sticks or will not latch is rehung square, and that door repair gets its own quote.
- Screens. We do window screen repair and sliding door screen replacement, and our page on window screen replacement has the details.

The walls in towers, lofts and the Arts District
- A wall inside a tower apartment. This is usually drywall on metal studs, which a lag screw cannot grip.
- A concrete wall or column. Many towers have poured concrete somewhere in the unit, so knock on the wall you have in mind.
- A loft in a converted older building. In the Arts District or Little Tokyo you may have brick you can see, or brick behind a finished wall.
- Old plaster. Some converted buildings still have it on a wall or two.
- Drywall on wood. You only find this in one of the very few houses here, or on a partition framed in wood.
The install board gives each of these its own column, so you can see how yours is priced.
Whether your building is by Grand Park, near Walt Disney Concert Hall or down Olympic Boulevard, call (310) 857-2520 with your floor and your wall, and we will text your flat price and your day.
