Because homes here largely went up in planned communities from the 1970s onward, a handyman in Calabasas will usually find drywall behind the paint. That is the lowest column on the install board, so a TV or a mirror tends to be a straightforward quote.

Where Calabasas walls stop being plain drywall
- Planned communities and townhomes. In The Oaks and in the condos and townhomes off Park Granada, plan on drywall.
- Large custom homes. Some of these have plaster on the walls.
- Fireplace walls. Expect brick or concrete behind the TV here.
- Newer condo buildings. Some of these are framed in steel.
- Cabins in Calabasas Highlands. An older cabin may have paneling or something else the board does not list, so we look at it first, and you hear about it before the first hole and can say no.

Repairs quoted before your Calabasas install day
Each of these gets its own written quote before we hold the day.
- A door that will not latch. We rehang it square in the frame, the way we do any door repair.
- Drywall patches. Holes and dents are filled and textured to match, as part of any drywall repair.

- Caulk and fans. We caulk around tubs, showers and windows, and we hang a ceiling fan on a box made to carry one.
Getting a new place set up off Park Granada
- A price for the whole day. Send us what is going up and the wall for each, and we text back one total made from the board prices.

- Mirrors and frames. A family hallway full of pictures or a big bedroom mirror goes on our picture and mirror hanging price.
- Children's rooms. A tall dresser or bookcase can be strapped to the wall so it cannot tip, and our furniture assembly price covers anything still in its box.
- Enough time. We start in the room you choose, and you decide the order of the rest.
